To operate and maintain the incineration plant in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with set SOPs and guidelines
Duties
Controls operation of incinerator and related equipment to burn medical waste as per the provided SOP’s
Records specified meter and gauge readings on incinerator log
Monitors utility levels and usage including (Diesel, Water, and reagents); logging relevant records as per requirements
Tracks, records and measures incinerator efficiency KPIs including tons/hour, fuel ltrs/ton, etc, analyzing and reporting variances for management attention
Cleans, maintains and services equipment parts, such as valves, burners, and oxygen analyzers, in line with standard instruction and proper use of hand tools to complete work in a safe and efficient manner
Attends to breakdowns, participates in trouble shooting and fixing equipment
Performs shutdown activities for planned maintenance and service schedules
Monitor incinerator while in operation for early detection of faults and malfunctioning e.g hotspots, etc
Implements and complies with HSE and house keeping standards
Tracks, records and reports data/information in the specified log books and reporting mechanisms
Requirements
Diploma in mechanical, electrical, fitter or related vocational trades
3 years work experience in similar roles preferably from processing/manufacturing plants
Knowledgeable of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation systems
Welding/Fitter experience is added advantage
Attentive to details and excellent time management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Good understanding of Safety Health, Safety and Environment
