Provide oversight on contract management and project administration, ensuring proper execution of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Low Voltage engineering activities of the hotel properties, meeting safety, cost, quality, and timelines
Key responsibilities
Provide technical oversight and direct project management associated with designs prepared by contracted consultants.
In conjunction with the contracted Architectural consultants, jointly manage the MEP/FP consultants’ contract, including evaluation of invoices to comply with the budget.
Jointly manage with the Design engineer the drawing production process to ensure accuracy and compliance with the project schedule.
Provide oversight and monitor work to ensure compliance with the Hotel properties’ MEP Criteria and Best Engineering Practices.
Review drawings, specifications, RFP’s, bid proposals, etc., and provide feedback as required.
Support the Project Manager and contract MEP/FP consultant through construction observation, submittal evaluation, and the review of tenant plans
Respond to technical questions for Maintenance Management, Tenant Coordination, Risk Management, and other departments.
Review drawings, specifications, RFP’s, bid proposals, etc., and provide feedback as required.
Interface regularly with Energy Services and Procurement for purposes of evaluating new products (i.e., light fixtures, meters, switchgear, etc.) and providing technical input whenever national contracts are bid.
As requested, provide technical feedback and recommendations to the Head of Sustainability regarding opportunities for implementing sustainable initiatives.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal direction
Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Working knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing & Fire Protection (MEPFP) codes and design conventions
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related
6+ years of engineering experience including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, controls, lighting systems, and energy management.
