Job Overview
Responsible for driving growth and expansion of the Company’s market presence within the transportation sector-moving cargo and fuel within SADC countries, helping the Company to achieve its commitment to provide efficient, reliable, and cost-effective logistics solutions
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute initiatives to expand the market and acquire new Clients
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the cargo and fuel transportation sector
Develop and execute strategies to expand market share within the region.
Build relationships with key stakeholders, including partners, agencies, large-scale transport buyers, and fuel distributors.
Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
Lead negotiations for high-value contracts with customers, suppliers, and partners.
Analyze customer needs and propose customized logistics solutions.
Prepare competitive pricing structures while ensuring profitability.
Conduct industry research and competitive analysis to identify trends, competitor activities and emerging opportunities
Monitor regulatory changes in the transportation sector and ensure compliance
Identify potential risks and recommend strategies to mitigate them.
Foster effective collaboration with internal departments to ensure service excellence
Address customer complaints, and provide feedback to internal teams to enhance service delivery and efficiency
Address customer concerns and ensure a high level of client satisfaction.
Develop and present business development reports, sales forecasts, and performance metrics to senior management.
Contribute to long-term strategic planning for business growth and market positioning.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales and marketing, logistics, supply chain, or any relevant.
Minimum 5+ years of experience in business development-related roles and responsibilities
Excellent exposure within the transportation sector both dry cargo and fuel
In-depth knowledge of the transportation and logistics industry within the Country and neighboring countries.
Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management in the transport sector.
Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to identify market opportunities and drive strategic initiatives.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market trends and financial data.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and CRM software.
